February Recap and March Goal

Goal #1--Finish Rhododendron Trail top
My goals for February were:

✔1. Quilt the two baby quilts for the newest granddaughter who will is expected to arrive mid March. Maybe I'll also get them bound too! Quilting the two quilts will be my One Monthly Goal. (Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal February Link-up )

❤2. Take photos of the book club quilts that I haven't documented with a post in my blog yet.

✔3. Finish the embroidery project. Last month, I purchased a frame, a matte and a piece of foam board. Next step is to cut the foam board and mount the embroidery on the foam board.

✔4. Finish the borders on the 2021 Temperature Quilt. I hope to layer and pin baste it this month too. I think I have a piece of fabric in my stash that will work
Goal #2--Make progress on the heart table runner

well for the back. Last month, I figured out the legend and almost stitched the pieced borders to the top. I'm so close to having a finished top!

✔5. Baste papers and make at least 30 more blocks for the 2022 Temperature Quilt. Last month, I finished purchasing the fabric and prewashed all the fabric. I'm planning to English Paper Piece this project. My order of papers and templates arrived from Paper Pieces last month. I still need to figure out how to organize this project as it will be a project that I take with me on a trip in a couple of months. I'm behind; but, I will catch up!

Goal #3--Make a project from these leftovers
✔6. Finish prewashing the fabrics in the Color my World BOM kit. Gertie can't hardly contain herself waiting for me to begin this project.

✔7. Keep up with the RSC blocks. Teal is the color for February.

✔8. Finish quilting the String of Lightening project.
Goal #4--Begin quilting the Lone Star

❤9. Piece the 2021 RSC blocks into rows. This month my oldest granddaughter almost pieced four rows of blocks. She's decided she wants to do ALL of the sewing so we can make that happen!

✔10. Begin pieceing the Rhododendron Trail blocks into a top.

Goal #6 ---

progress

❤11. Quilt four days on the longarm. I only quilted one day in December and quilted no days in January!

✔12. Work on the heart table runner.

✔13. Share a photo of the block I made for the virtual Spring retreat which is being held February 24-27.

❤14. Write posts to document the Saturday Workshops and/or the projects that I've created.

❤=partially completed

I read/listened to the following books:

Read:

1. The Last Thing He Told Me/Laura Dave (4.5); 2. If You Believe/Kristin Hannah (3); 3. When Lightening Strikes/Kristin Hannah (2)

Goal #7--Ring Sling
Audio:

1. Riders of the Purple Sage/Zane Gray (4.7); 2. The Long Way Home/Louise Penny (4.8); 3. The Five Wounds/Kristen Valdez Quade (2)

(Score= 1 low; 5 high)

I trained 37 people in American Heart HealthCare Provider Basic Life Support CPR and helped four people earn their Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification. I also shared with the Mod Squad Quilt Group about writing a blog.

My goals for March are:

1. Finish piecing the Rhododendron Trail mystery blocks into a top. Determine the backing fabrics. Construct the back. Maybe find time to quilt it on the longarm.

2. Continue making progress on the heart table runner. A finish would be GREAT!

Goal #8--Coordinating scraps for a baby quilt
3. Work on the next book club quilt. Perhaps, the leftover bits of the String of Lightening quilt can be the fodder for this project. I hope to be able to read enough of the book to at least get an idea before I leave on my trip.

4. Begin quilting the Lone Star on my domestic machine. This will be my One Monthly Goal. Come with me to Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal March Link-up to see what other people have planned!

5. Continue making progress with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) blocks.

6. Continue making progress with the 2022 Temperature quilt.

7. Make a Ring Sling for my daughter.

8. Make a gift for my granddaughter's birthday.

9. Maybe make a fabric bowl.

10. Start a baby quilt.

11. Quilt three to four days on the longarm this month.

So much for a short list this month! Gertie has all kinds of ideas for projects and activities.  Perhaps, she can work on the Lone Star quilting design while I make some of the other projects on the list.

Wow! You are so organized.
I had to stop reading to go google “ring sling” as I didn’t have a clue what that could possibly be. It seems like a wonderful idea. :-)
