2025 Rainbow Scrap Challenge Yellow--post 2

Daffodils blooming in the yard
Angela chose yellow as the color for March in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Honestly, when I think of the color yellow, I think of daffodils. These are such happy flowers which always make me smile!

Sewing the yellow selvage squares
For the scrap challenge this month, I was ready! I pulled my yellow selvage squares and began stitching them into blocks. Finishing the blocks was goal number six on my March list.

Yellow blocks completed

Now that I'm organized, in no time, I had finished piecing the blocks.I wanted to see the yellow blocks with the pink and blue blocks. I arranged them all on the design wall. I liked what I saw.

The finished blocks
Then my little squirrel, Gertie, began swishing her tail and chattering. She wants to know how these will be set because she thinks there aren't enough! I told her that I didn't know what layout I would use. I told her that I was okay with making more blocks . . .maybe next year. . .well. . .She harrumphed me big time!! She obviously wants to see this finished sooner rather than later! LOL

I'm with Gertie! I can't wait to see what you do with these blocks! Of course, I'll enjoy seeing whatever you work on.......

Ooh, are your daffodils blooming? I think mine will be within a week if the weather holds. They're my favorite and your yellow/green blocks definitely remind me of them.

I love daffodils, too! I don't have any growing this year, so I had to buy myself a bouquet at the store. Your rainbow of selvage blocks are looking so good, Terry - the green background is fun and really sets off the squares!

It is a very interesting block. Will you do green too? In any account, it will be a one-of-kind type of quilt. Enjoy the stitching and throw peanuts to Gertie to keep her quiet, lol. ;^)

You could appease Gertie and sew ahead, but show as the months go by. It happens sometimes. Love the selvage squares, Terry, and the YELLOW ones are so cheerful!

You must have a big bag of selvedges to play with. I'm using up the last of mine stitching oven mitts. And I'm not collecting any more!

Daffodils are such pretty flowers, a sign of spring. We had lots of them at the farm I grew up. They don't grow here, too hot and humid, I guess. Love your RSC project! It's a fun block and great use of selvages.

That green background works beautifully with the selvage blocks. I never think to use a fun color for a background.
